How we evaluate the effectiveness of our training

At Performance for Business, we believe that evaluation of the effectiveness of the training should begin during the course itself. We have regular reviews and recaps, flashbacks, quizzes, and practice sessions on our courses to help and check that delegates are learning and retaining the information they need. We also ask our delegates what is working for them and what is not, so we can adapt the style of the training to suit the people attending, rather than wish afterwards that we had!

At the end of each course, delegates are requested to complete a feedback form on the quality of the training and the trainer's delivery and how they see the training assisting their own performance in the future. They are invited to comment on what worked best, what didn't, and any changes they would make to the course to make it better. All forms are copied for our records and for yours and reviewed in a post course discussion between trainer and client.

True evaluation of the effectiveness of any training however is always several weeks down the line when delegates have had time to put new skills into practice. We therefore contact delegates 3 months after the completion of the course and request that they inform us of their feedback at this stage. To assist this process, delegates complete an action plan at the end of each course and we ask them to review this action plan as part of this final evaluation. Again, this feedback is passed to you.

If applicable, a post course project, in which delegates put skills learnt into place in real time is also given and monitored – again, agreed with you. Finally, we also ensure that every delegate who attends a course with Performance for Business has access to their trainer by email at any time after the course, should they wish to discuss any relevant issues that arise or just to bounce ideas off someone external to their organisation.
